NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting a 1080 ground baiting operation targeting foxes from Monday 4 May to Monday 30 November 2020. This is to reduce the impacts on threatened shorebird species, especially during the breeding season. Baits are buried and tethered.

The operation will happen in Seven Mile Beach National Park and Comerong Island Nature Reserve. Baits are placed only on NPWS estate and more than 150m from habitation.

1080 baiting signs are located at the entrance to the national park and reserve and near baiting areas. Do not touch the baits or tethers.

1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) is lethal to pets (including domestic dogs and cats). In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance. Domestic pets, including dogs and cats, are not permitted in national parks or nature reserves. Restrain assistance dogs to ensure they do not enter the baiting areas.

Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the NPWS office at Nowra on 02 4428 6300.
