Green Cape loop walking track, only 45 minutes from Eden, is an explorer’s paradise. Starting at Green Cape Lightstation, this wild walk crosses exposed rock platforms, winds along remote coastline and trails through melaleuca forest.

Bring your binoculars if you want to discover the area’s fascinating wildlife. You could see whales, fur seals, dolphins and even little penguins in the sea. On shore, look out for the vulnerable eastern ground parrot or southern brown bandicoot. You could also see goannas and other reptiles.

Your rewards for tackling the many steps and steep climbs are stunning lookouts with views of the rugged Pacific coastline. There are also plenty of scenic spots for a break. Perch on a rock and look for marine life while sea eagles hover overhead, or slow down in the bush to admire the wildflowers. Banksias bloom from summer to autumn, heathland plants flower in winter and honey myrtle blossoms in spring.

After your adventure, why not treat yourself to a night or two at Green Cape Lightstation Keepers' Cottages or go on a heritage tour of Green Cape Lighthouse?

The coastal section of this track is part of the 32km Light to Light Walk from Green Cape to Boyds Tower. You can continue along the coast to Bittangabee Bay and camp at Bittangabee campground.
