Other incidents: Yabbra NP - Road conditions

South Yabbra Road runs South from Clarence Way providing visitors with an 18km rainforest road experience to the heart of Yabbra National Park. South Yabbra Road is generally suitable for AWD or 4WD vehicles in dry weather conditions and is a no through road (visitors need to return along South Yabbra Road). From the end of South Yabbra Road visitors can walk or cycle along the adjacent management trails to explore further. Joes Box Road, Yabbra Plains Road, Pocupar Road, Bald Knob Road and South Haystack Feeder are management trails where public vehicle access is not permitted. These management trails are periodically closed to visitors for road maintenance or pest management operations with closures notified on NPWS website.

Sheas Hut Road provides public vehicle access for a further 10 km however is in poor condition and not promoted.

There are frequent tree falls along these roads and visitors are advised to avoid during wet weather events or strong winds. For further information contact the Kyogle NPWS office on (02) 6632 0000.
