Closed areas: Greenbah campground and trails closed due to wet conditions

A number of locations and trails are closed due to wet conditions. These include:

  • Greenbah campground
  • Burrabadine walking track
  • Sawpit Gully trail south of Caloma trig
  • Spring Gully trail 

Greenbah campground will remain closed at until at least Friday 30 October 2020. The closure will be extended if required.

Wanda Wandong campground remains open. All camping in NSW national parks requires a booking.

Fire bans: Park fire ban - Riverina area

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: No vehicle access to Mount Nangar lookout

Due to ongoing wet weather, the trails up to Mount Nangar lookout are currently closed to all vehicles.

Terarra Creek fire trail (east of the Dripping Rock Road bypass intersection), Goanna fire trail and Nangar fire trail will remain closed to all vehicles until further notice.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ground baiting

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground baiting program using Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE) that contain 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of Wild Dogs and Foxes. The program will be ongoing between Wednesday 12 August 2020 and Sunday 31 January 2021 in Goobang National Park.

All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
