Fire bans: Solid fuel fire ban for Sturt National Park
There is a 'no solid fuel fire policy' in this park all year round. This park fire ban will remain in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Areas Colsed due to damaged roads from heavy rainfall
The following areas are closed due to heavy rainfall & damaged roads:
- Gorge Loop Road,
- Middle Road
- Many creek crossings & roads are closed and impassable due to severe rainfall causing dangerous conditions.
- Roads are likely to be cut off and there is a high risk of flash flooding.
- These areas will re-open as soon as they are safe.
All campgrounds in Sturt National Park are open.

During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
