Closed parks: Park Closed due to heavy rainfall

Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park is currently closed due to heavy rainfall.

  • Many creek crossings & roads are closed and impassable due to severe rainfall causing dangerous conditions.
  • Roads are likely to be cut off and there is a high risk of flash flooding
  • These areas will re-open as soon as they are safe.

This alert will be updated when conditions change.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters, so you’ll need to reschedule your visit and avoid travel through areas in this park. Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park will be closed from Tuesday 11 June to Saturday 15 June 2024 for an aerial pest control operation.

This aerial pest control operation will be conducted as part of an ongoing program to protect the ecological values of Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park and reduce impacts of feral vertebrate species on reserve and surrounding private property.

Fire bans: Park fire ban

There is a 'no solid fuel fire policy' in this park all year round. This park fire ban will remain in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
