Koonaburra National Park
What we're doing
Park management activities
Koonaburra National Park has management strategies in place to protect and conserve the values of this park. Visit the detailed park and fire management documents.
Preserving biodiversity
Koonaburra National Park provides habitat for 30 threatened species. The park also protects 2 threatened ecological communities, acacia shrubland and sandhill pine woodland.
Developing visitor facilities and experiences
We’re improving access and facilities for visitors to Koonaburra National Park. Planned experiences include walking trails and self-drive 4WD tours. These activities will allow travellers to experience all that this park has to offer and get a sense of life in remote western NSW.
Managing weeds, pest animals and other threats
To protect and restore Koonaburra National Park’s ecological communities, we undertake pest and weed control operations. Goats and pigs are removed to allow native plant species to grow, and these plants provide habitat for native animals.
