Private property adjoins Cocoparra National Park on the eastern side and therefore no public access is permitted via Pleasant Valley Road. No public vehicle access is permitted along the Eastern Boundary fire trail, this is a management trail only.

If you are visiting the park, please enter from the western side, via Barrys Scenic Drive or Mount Bingar Road.

Fire bans: Solid fuel fire ban - all Central West national parks

A park fire ban is in place in this park from Friday 27 September 2019 and remains in effect until Tuesday 31 March 2020 unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, please contact the local park office before using a gas and or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Feral pest control program - parts of Oolambeyan National Park closed

Oolambeyan National Park, excluding the Homestead area, is closed for a feral pest ground baiting program. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible. 

Please keep guide dogs and assistant dogs on leads at all times when you're in the Homestead area.

Closed areas: Rooks trail and Sandy Beach closed

All walking tracks and trails in the MIA1 section of Murrumbidgee Valley National Park are closed until further notice. This is the section east of Grahams Grave park entrance (including Sandy Beach). This is due to site protection work that needs to be completed in this area. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.
