Gerringong Falls

Overview

Gerringong Falls is in Budderoo National Park near Kangaroo Valley. Access to the base of Gerringong Falls is permanently closed as there is a risk of falling from the cliff edge and severe injury.

There is no approved walking track leading to the base of Gerringong Falls.  People have been seriously injured while trying to access the base of the falls.

It's a 18km round trip to walk to the top of Gerringong Falls along Hersey trail (an unmarked fire trail) and taking the wrong turn could be dangerous. There's limited mobile phone reception in this area. You may not be able to call for help if you need it and access for emergency services is difficult.

    Hersey trail

    Hersey trail is a challenging 17.6km return walk that leads through exposed heathland to the top of Gerringong Falls in Budderoo National Park, near Carrington Falls. It’s recommended for experienced bushwalkers only.
