Safety alerts: High water levels on Light to Light walk river crossings

Recent heavy rainfall is causing high water levels at Saltwater Creek, Woodbine Creek and Bittangabee Bay. Water levels may impact your ability to cross these creeks and continue along Light to Light walk.

Please be careful around these waterways and plan your trip in advance.

Other planned events: 1080 pest management program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a baiting program using fresh meat, manufactured baits and CPEs containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes and wild dogs. The program will be ongoing and continuous from Friday 4 June 2021 to Saturday 4 December 2021 .

The baited parks, reserves and state conservation areas include:

  • Ben Boyd National Park
  • Bournda National Park
  • Bournda Nature Reserve

There will be signs at all baiting locations.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs in the vicinity must be restrained or muzzled and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

North Head Road is closed due to storm damage and is impassable to all vehicles. Terrace Beach and Lennards Island remain open.
