Closed areas: Areas closed for pest control operation

The following areas are closed between 5pm to 10am from Wednesday 5 October to Sunday 9 October 2022 for a pest control operation:

  • Pedro Point
  • Beach areas from to Pedro Point south to North Congo
  • Bingie Bingie Point
  • Beach areas from Bingie Bingie Point north to Grey Rocks
  • Coila Beach and Bingie Dreaming track - from Bingie Bingie Point south to the Eurobodalla National Park boundary.

This pest control targets foxes and aims to reduce their impact on threatened nesting shorebirds. The pest control program will involve shooting. The closed areas will be sign-posted with warning signs and barriers will be placed at all relevant access points. Please avoid the area during this time.

Other planned events: Notice of ongoing 1080 pest management baiting program.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a baiting program using fresh meat, manufactured baits and CPEs containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes and wild dogs. The program will be ongoing and continuous from Friday 1 July to Saturday 31 December 2022.

The baited parks, reserves and state conservation areas include:

  • Badja Swamps Nature reserve
  • Ben Boyd National Park
  • Deua National Park
  • Eurobodalla National Park
  • Gulaga National Park
  • Kooraban National Park
  • Mimosa Rocks National Park
  • Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
  • South East Forest National Park 
  • Wadbilliga National Park

There will be signs at all baiting locations.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs in the vicinity must be restrained or muzzled and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Roads closed due to rain damage

The following roads are closed until further notice due to rain damage:

  • Plovers Lane (Bogola Headland)
  • Jemisons Point Trail
  • Honeysuckle Road

Please do not enter these areas. These areas are being continually assessed and will be reopened once dry enough to allow safe passage.

Closed areas: Dalmeny Pedestrian Bridge closed due to works

Dalmeny Pedestrian Bridge is closed from Monday 5 September until the end of October 2022 for repair works.

Access to Dalmeny Beach and this part of Eurobodalla National Park is via the eastern end of Brou-Dalmeny Beach.

Safety alerts: Brou Lake Road - 4WD only access

Access to Brou Lake campground is currently only suitable for 4WD vehicles. Road conditions in this park are slippery and wet due to continued heavy rain events.

Safety alerts: Bingie Dreaming track - Closed and open coastal lakes and lagoons

Bingie Dreaming track crosses openings to several Intermittently Closed and Open Coastal Lakes and Lagoons (ICOLLS). Openings of these lakes and lagoons are often unpredictable and can be quite dramatic. Please be aware that although lakes are usually only open for short periods (weeks), they can be impassable when open.

The Coila Lake opening is at the southern end of Bingie Dreaming track. Please check if this lake is open before you set out. If the opening is impassable, you won't be able to access the village of Tuross to complete the walk.
