Arakoon bushcare

The fragile coastal dune system of Arakoon National Park on the beautiful NSW Mid North Coast is under threat from invasive weeds such as bitou bush. By volunteering with the Arakoon bushcare group for just 2 hours a week, you can help stem the tide of invasive weeds like bitou bush and restore native dune habitat.

Bongil little tern recovery program

Do you live near Bongil Bongil National Park and want to volunteer to help protect the area’s endangered tern? Success at Bongil Spit, in northern NSW, relies on the work of NSW National Parks staff and volunteers to continue to protect the endangered tern.

Bouddi bushcare

Bouddi National Park’s natural coastline is under threat from invasive weeds. If you’re interested in helping to restore the native vegetation along this section of NSW coast, then volunteer to join a local bushcare group. Work is carried out in various sections of the park, including MacMasters Beach.

If you like gardening and weeding with a purpose, this volunteer activity is for you. Over the last 20 years, Braeside bushcare volunteers have made a real and positive impact on Braeside Upland Swamp in Blue Mountains National Park, near Blackheath.

Cape Byron Lighthouse Friends

Looking for volunteer work with a view? If you’ve got a minimum of 3 hours a week to spare, come and be part of a friendly team at Cape Byron. Lead guided tours of the museum and lighthouse and share the area’s fascinating maritime history with visitors.
