Closed areas: Twelve Mile Road Closed

The Twelve Mile Road in Morton National Park will be closed from Monday 17th April 2023 till Friday 27th October 2023 for urgent fire trail repairs and upgrade works. The closed visitor areas include:

  • George Boyd Lookout
  • George Boyd Picnic Area
  • George Boyd Rainforest Walking Track
  • Granite Falls Walking Track

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ground baiting program

A ground baiting program using 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison to control wild dogs and foxes will be conducted between Tuesday 23 May and Tuesday 24 October 2023 in the Conjola National Park and Murramarang National Park.

1080 warning signage will be placed at the entrances into the baiting locations and every 5km along trails.

Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks and Reserves. 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Neighbouring property owners should restrain any domestic pets to prevent them from entering the baiting locations.

In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: Poor road conditions due to wet weather

Please be aware that the following publicly open roads and tracks in Parma Creek Nature Reserve and Jerrawangala National Park are in poor condition:

Parma Creek Nature Reserve

  • Parma Creek Fire Trail (a short section between Sandy Creek Fire Trail and Hell Hole Fire Trail)
  • Hell Hole Fire Trail
  • Hell Hole Trail
  • Blackbutt Range Road (between Turpentine Road and Parma Fire Trail)

Jerrawangala National Park

  • Yarran Road (between Cottonwood Road and Bollerang Creek crossing)
  • Deans Gap Road (a short rough/muddy section 700m west of Braidwood Rd)

A 4WD vehicle is recommended and some roads may be impassable. Works will be undertaken to repair roads when resources and weather conditions allow.

Berrara Creek and Heath walking tracks are closed due to bushfire and storm damage. These areas are currently undergoing repairs. Do not enter the closed areas.

Due to ongoing wet weather, roads and tracks in Conjola National Park are in very poor condition. As a result, some roads may be impassable and a 4WD vehicle is recommended for open roads. 

The closed​​ roads include:

  • Grasstree Road
  • Berrara Road
  • Fishermans Rock road
  • Boundary road

Roadworks will commence in October 2022 and be ongoing into 2023. Expect short delays and road closures across the parks' road network due to these roadworks.

  • in Morton National Park in the South Coast and Country NSW regions
  • Morton National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

    Parts of the south-eastern area of this park were once used for military training and may contain unexploded artillery shells. These areas have restrictions in place for your safety.

  • Park entry fees: 

    Fitzroy Falls: $4 per vehicle per day. Bundanoon area: $8 per vehicle per day. The park has pay machines - cash and cards accepted.
