NPWS guided tours of country NSW

Join us on a guided tour in one of our country or inland NSW national parks. Our NSW National Parks team run regular tours so you can learn about our unique birdlife in swamps and marshes, or discover the stars on a dark skies tour in Warrumbungle National Park.

If you wanted to venture further into the outback you could book a tour with an NPWS Aboriginal guide to explore Mungo lunette (Walls of China) or Mutawintji National Park.

Most tours are family-friendly so everyone can enjoy a great day in our parks.

Explore the Dark Sky

Experience the wonders of the night sky at Warrumbungle National Park, near Coonabarabran. It's Australia’s first officially accredited Dark Sky Park.

Nandewar guided nature stroll

Join a Discovery ranger on a guided nature stroll through Mount Kaputar National Park. Learn about the Kaputar pink slug and other local birds and animals along Dawsons Spring nature trail.

Pilliga rambles tag-along tour

50th anniversary event for Werrikimbe National Park

Join us and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Werrikimbe National Park from the grounds of Mooraback cabin on 18-19 October 2025. Free festivities include Ranger-guided walks, speeches, celebratory cake, and a delicious lunch.

Mungo lunette guided tour

Take a guided tour of Mungo lunette (Walls of China) with an NPWS Aboriginal guide. It's one of the most spectacular outback landscapes in NSW and a must-do when visiting Mungo National Park.
