Camping with horses in NSW national parks

Planning to enjoy a horse riding adventure in a national park? Kosciuszko National Park has several campgrounds where you can stay with your horse. Tom Groggin horse camp and Geehi horse camp offer dedicated facilities for riders tackling the National trail. Outside winter, you can vehicle base camp with your horse at designated campgrounds in northern Kosciuszko's High Plains and Selwyn areas. Four Bull Hut is the perfect base to explore Washpool National Park’s horse riding trails.

Horse-friendly Kosciuszko cottages

Outside winter, you can stay at Currango Homestead, The Pines Cottage and Daffodil Cottage, in the High Plains area of Koscisuzko National Park, with your horse. Conditions apply.

Rustic Four Bull Hut is the perfect place to stay if you’re exploring Washpool National Park’s network of horse riding trails, near Tenterfield. There are horse yards around 200m from the accommodation.

Horse riding safety

Horse riding is a unique way to experience many of the national parks in NSW. Riding opportunities vary from relatively flat open areas to steeper terrain with more challenging trails through remote areas. Careful preparation for your horse ride will help ensure a safe and enjoyable time for horses and riders.
