A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
They're under direct control of an adult
The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Some areas of Warrabah National Park are closed from 6.00 pm Sunday 26 March until 6.00 pm, Monday 27 March 2023 for an aerial pest control operation. The closed areas are:
Warrabah campground
Gum Hole campground
Boundary Hole and Billy's Hole picnic areas
Muluerindie precinct will not be accessible between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm on Monday 27 March.
Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information, contact the NPWS Barwon Area Office in Narrabri on 6792 7300 for enquiries about Warrabah and Gum Hole campground during the closure period and the New England Area office in Armidale on 6738 9100 regarding access to Muleurindie on Monday 27 March.
