Getting there and parking

Willandra Men’s Quarters is in the Willandra Homestead precinct. To get there:

From Hillston:

  • Travel north on Oxley Road, turn left onto Mossgiel Road and continue for 3km over the Lachlan River.
  • Turn left again and follow Mossgiel Road for 36km
  • Pass Willandra Station (this is private property)
  • At the intersection, turn right onto Whealbah Road then continue for 20km. Watch out for the cattle grids on this stretch of road.
  • Turn right at Merton Creek trail and head towards Willandra Homestead. Willandra Men’s Quarters is the building near the workshop.

Be aware that most of these roads are unsealed and impassable after rain. Please keep watch for wildlife and livestock.

From Ivanhoe:

  • Turn left from the Cobb Highway onto Mossgiel Road.
  • Follow Mossgiel Road for 46km until you reach an intersection.
  • Turn left onto Whealbah Road
  • Continue for 20km, then turn right at Merton Creek trail.
  • Head towards Willandra Homestead. Willandra Men’s Quarters is the building near the workshop.

Spring brings mild weather and fantastic birdwatching opportunities, as well as being the best time for wildflower displays. Drive, cycle or walk the scenic Merton trail or follow the Nilla Yannagalang Billana walking trail to make the most of what's on offer at this time of year.

Fire safety
