Mutawintji Gorge walk is closed due to maintenance until further notice. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Fire bans: Park Fire Ban

A park fire ban is in place in this park from Monday 15 October 2018 until Monday 1 April 2019, and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, please contact the local park office before using a gas and or electric barbecue or cooker.

There is a no solid fuel fire policy in this park and is in effect during fire season from Monday 1 October 2018 to Sunday 31 March 2019. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

Morton Boulka picnic area and Cawndilla picnic area and campground are closed and inaccessible due to the current condition of Lake Drive. Lake Drive is closed.
