NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program in Lachlan Valley National Park, Hunthawang Precinct from Sunday 17 August 2025 to Monday 25 August 2025. Lachlan Valley National Park, Hunthawang Precinct will be closed for this operation. The operation will involve the use of meat baits and meat bait products containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.

Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
