Overview
Duval Nature Reserve was created in January 1999. It covers an area of 240ha. View the detailed park and fire management documents.
The reserve is on the central New England Tableland, near Armidale. It protects eucalypt forests with rare plants like the helmet orchid and Youman's stringybark. It's also home vulnerable bird species like the barking owl and speckled warbler.
Activities
This reserve has no facilities or formal tracks so it suits self-reliant bushwalkers and birdwatchers.
Access
Access is through Newholme and the Newholme reserved area. This is private property owned by the University of New England (UNE). Visitors need get permission to enter UNE before they visit.
