NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a ground baiting program in Culgoa National Park and Ledknapper Nature Reserve from Thursday 20 April to 20 May 2023.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an aerial baiting program using 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. These programs will be undertaken from the Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th April 2023.
These programs are part of an integrated pest animal control strategy, aimed at minimising the impacts of wild dog and foxes on neighbouring stock and for conservation benefits.
Baiting programs will be conducted in Nocoleche Nature Reserve, Gundabooka National Park & State Conservation Area and Toorale State Conservation Area and National Park.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS estate. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Some roads in Pilliga West State Conservation Area and Pilliga West National Park are closed due to subsidence damage. Take care when driving in the area. Please obey all closure notices.
