Safety alerts: 1080 baiting program for the control of foxes
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program using Meat Baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes in Ulandra and Nest Hill Reserves.
The program will be conducted between the 29th of May and the 4th of July 2025
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS Estate.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location.
In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

As part of the visitor infrastructure improvements being undertaken by National Parks & Wildlife Service, NPWS Central West Area will be working to upgrade parts of the fence surrounding Ben Halls Campground and Seaton's Farm Historic site from Monday 19 May 2025 until Friday 20 June 2025
During this time there will be NPWS staff and contractors working within the area with small machinery and vehicles. Please ensure you take safety precautions and avoid approaching staff as they undertake these works.
Ben Halls Campground, Seaton's Farm and all visitor facilities will remain open whilst these works are being undertaken.

Safety alerts: Trail maintenance in Jindalee National Park
Road maintenance work is occurring in Jindalee National Park between 7am 26 May 2025 and 5pm 13th June 2025.
Watch out for machinery on the on the fire trails while in the National Park.
There will be closures to the DeRailYa car park during this time for resurfacing works, please obey all road closure and road work signage.
There will be no closures to the mountain bike network.

Fire bans: Solid Fuel Fire Ban - Berry Jerry Precinct Only Near Wagga Wagga
A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
