Terms and conditions

There is no access to the creek. Please report to Visitor Centre upon arrival.

Plants or animals

  • Only petals, flowers and flower arrangements containing no seed material are permitted.
  • No dogs are permitted with the exception of assistance animals.
  • The release of birds, balloons or bubbles is not permitted.

Commercial filming ang photography

A filming and photography licence must be obtained prior to any commercial filming and photography activities and prior approval obtained from the NSW National Parks head office.

Getting there and parking

Fitzroy Falls riverside picnic huts are in Morton National Park, near Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre. To get there from Sydney:

  • Drive 137km via Hume Highway to Mittagong and Bowral, then Sheepwash Road and Nowra Road (approx. 1.5 hours drive).
  • Enter the Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre main gate.
  • Drive through the carpark and continue down the unsealed gravel track for about 200m and park your vehicle.
  • The huts are on the right side of the track, just past the barbecues.

You can access Fitzroy Falls riverside picnic huts by driving or walking along a short gravel track off the main carpark at Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre. Buses are not permitted down this unpaved access track.

Parking

Parking is available next to Fitzroy Falls riverside picnic huts. Additional parking is available at Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre carpark, a 200m walk from these picnic huts.

Facilities

  • The 2 huts are about 5m apart, with vegetation between them.
  • There are no rubbish bins. You'll need to take all rubbish with you and leave the area clean.
  • You may be charged a fee if significant cleaning is needed after your stay.

Assistance may be required to access some areas. The toilets are wheelchair accessible. Access to the picnic huts, via a gravel road to a grassed area, is possible with assistance.

Park info

  • Morton National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

    Parts of the south-eastern area of this park were once used for military training and may contain unexploded artillery shells. These areas have restrictions in place for your safety.

  • Park entry fees: 

    Fitzroy Falls: $4 per vehicle per day. Bundanoon area: $8 per vehicle per day. The park has pay machines - cash and cards accepted.
