The Green Gully Track is closed from 6th March to 17th March 2025 due to storm damage. Tracks are currently being assessed and will reopen when safe. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

For safety, some national parks and reserves on the North Coast are closed until Monday 24 March due to damage caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Areas will be opened once inspections, and any necessary works, are completed. Public access roads through parks will not be affected by park closures.

Campgrounds in Werrikimbe and Cottan Bimbang National Parks are closed until 17 March due to severe weather conditions associated with the impact of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Remember, it’s never safe to drive, ride or walk through flood waters. The Hastings Forest Way is also closed. Check Live Traffic NSW for up-to-date information and contact the local park office.

  • Wilson River Bridge on Hastings Forest Way
  • North Wilson Road
  • Waterfall Walk
  • Botanic Walk

Access to the Banda Banda Aboretum is open however extreme caution should be exercised. The trail becomes very slippery in damp or even misty weather and there is an increased risk of fallen trees blocking the trail. There are limited places to turn around safely if the trail is blocked. Visitors are encouraged to walk in to the Arboretum rather than drive.

  • in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park in the North Coast and Country NSW regions
  • Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • There are 3 areas in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park where you'll need day use vehicle permits: Halls Peak campground and picnic area, Riverside campground and picnic area, and Youdales Hut campground and picnic area. Day use vehicle permits can be bought online or by calling the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. If camping, permit fees are included in the campground fee.
