Overview

Rigby Hill walking track is an easy 1hr return walk from Pierces Pass, in Blue Mountains National Park. It offers dramatic views of the Grose Valley, near Blackheath and Mount Wilson.

This 1.2km return walk starts from Pierces Pass picnic area, easily accessed from Bells Line of Road, between the Mount Wilson and Mount Banks turnoffs.

Follow the track along a ridge atop the sandstone escarpment, gently climbing to a high point, Rigby Hill. From the lookout point you’ll enjoy sweeping views to Perrys Lookdown, and across the Grose Wilderness and Grose River, a declared Wild River.

Keep well back from cliff edges, especially when taking photos, and supervise children at all times. Take extreme care as the cliffs are over 200m high and are unfenced.

Allow 1hr to make the most of the views and return to the picnic area.

Well-prepared hikers can tackle the challenging Pierces Pass to Blue Gum Forest walking track which also starts from Pierces Pass picnic area. Or, explore the nearby Mount Wilson area of Blue Mountains National Park.
