Closed areas: Temporary closures at Mimosa Rocks National Park
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is delivering a range of improvements at the popular Mimosa Rocks National Park on NSW’s South Coast. The upgrades will improve flood resilience, sustainability and visitor safety across four key precincts in the park including Nelsons Beach and Aragunnu Beach, Gillards Beach and Middle Beach campgrounds.
Work will be completed in stages from February 2026 to December 2026, and has been scheduled outside of peak holiday times, where possible.
Visitors can expect the following temporary closures:
- From February 2026 to mid-2026 Nelsons Beach precinct, including Nelsons Beach Road and Carpark will be closed to all public access for upgrades.
- From July 2026 to late-2026 Middle Beach Campground and Day Use Area will be closed to all public access for upgrades.
- From February 2027 to mid-2027 Gillards and Aragunnu campgrounds will be closed for upgrades.
Alternative camping options include Picnic Point in Mimosa Rocks National Park and Hobart Beach in Bournda National Park.
All other areas in Mimosa Rocks National Park will remain open to visitors during these times. Check for park closure alerts before you travel.
