Fire bans: Solid fuel fire ban

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.

Closed areas: Murray Valley NP - Millewa precinct - south of Tocumwal Road - CLOSED

The Millewa precinct south of the Tocumwal Road will be closed to all traffic due to road and infrastructure works taking place. This area will remain closed until 1st April 2026. Other campgrounds north of the Tocumwal Road and within the Gulpa Island and Moira precincts, north and south will remain open. Please check the online Murray Valley campground booking site, Search camping and accommodation | NSW National Parks for available locations.

Access to the Murray Valley National Park via Toupna Crossing Road is closed. The gate at the Park entrance is locked.

The Park access is closed is closed due to unseasonal river flow heights.
