Safety alerts: Cycling Hazards in Conjola National Park

Cycle routes in Conjola National Park may currently be unsuitable for some cyclists due to recent roadworks. There are many sections of large ballast rock that have been used in boggy areas that may be difficult for cyclists to negotiate. It is hoped these will silt up over time and be more suitable for cyclists.

Take care and cycle safely

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ground baiting program

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 8 April 2024 to Tuesday 8 October 2024. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs,.

The program will take place in Jerrawangala National Park, Parma Creek Nature Reserve and Colyemea State Conservation Area.

The program is designed to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.

Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Please contact the local Shoalhaven NPWS area office for more information on 02 4428 6300.
