Explore the natural wonders of Glow Worm Tunnel on a full-day guided tour with Red Lantern Adventure Tours. Meeting at Penrith, your friendly guide will take you across the Blue Mountains to Wollemi National Park, near Lithgow. Sit back and relax in comfort as your driver takes you past diverse mountain scenery and along the stunning Newnes Plateau.
Following the Glow Worm tunnel walking track, you’ll walk a 6km round trip through lush green forests. You'll see fascinating pagoda rock formations and cross crystal-clear creeks. Step into the dark 387metre-long tunnel that was once used as a mining railway in the early 1900s. Your guide will provide red lights to explore the depths of this tunnel without disturbing the glow worms. Take a moment to experience the tunnel in full darkness and watch for the soft light of the glow worms around you.
Bring along a packed lunch for a relaxed picnic amongst the towering tree ferns. You’ll then head back along the track to where you started for your return drive to Penrith.
Red Lantern Tours is a licensed commercial tour operator with a Parks Eco Pass.
