Lyrebird Link track

Lyrebird Link track starts at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre in the western precinct of Dorrigo National Park. To get there:

From Armidale:

• Drive east along the Waterfall Way for approximately 90 minutes
• Turn left into Dome Road approximately 2km after you pass through Dorrigo

From Coffs Harbour:

• Travel south along the Pacific Highway
• After crossing the Bellinger River, take the Waterfall Way exit to Dorrigo via Bellingen
• Turn right at Dome Road and continue for approximately 1.6km to the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre.

Parking

There's parking in a large bitumen carpark at Dorrigo Rainforest Centre where this walk begins, including 2 accessible parking spaces.

The weather at Dorrigo National Park can vary from warm to mild to cool, depending on the time of year you visit. The summer months usually have the highest rainfall.

Spring

Summer

Escape the summer heat along one of the waterfall tracks and feel the coolness envelope you.

There are accessible toilets, picnic tables, a cafe and bench seats at Dorrigo Rainforest Centre where this walk begins.

Seats and resting points

There's a bench midway through the walk that's made of curved slats on a stone wall.

There's also a bench at the crossroads at the end of the walk, where the track meets up with Wonga walk.

Disability access level - medium

Lyrebird link track is step-free and mostly flat with gentle hills.

The walk is 1.5m to 2m-wide and bitumen seal, aside from a fibre-reinforced plastic ramp at the start of the walk that leads down to the rainforest floor.

There are some parts of the walk where assistance may be required:

• The ramp at the start of the walk can be a moderately steep uphill climb on the way back to rainforest centre.
• The large Baliminda Platform along the walk has 3 steps with a handrail that lead to its outer edge. You can still enjoy the view from the platform without needing to descend the steps.
