    This is a door-to-door immersion and all transport is provided from your school.

    Safety messages

    Pre activity briefing: participants will be briefed at the start of each day and activity.

    Safety equipment: Red Earth staff carry first aid kits, satellite phones, EPIRBs (emergency position indicating radio beacons), hold current First Aid certificates and are aware of emergency procedures.

    Staff accreditation: Red Earth staff have current Remote Area First Aid accreditation and 4WD vehicle driving and recovery certification. They are experienced in working with groups of students in the natural environment and have excellent knowledge of the specific areas they are visiting, including of potential hazards. Red Earth is committed to a Child Safe and Friendly Environment. Our staff have been screened for child-related employment and have completed a Working with Children Check.

    Emergencies: Red Earth staff are trained to deal with emergencies, and emergency procedures are in place. Emergency response protocols and procedures will be detailed and discussed with travelling school staff before the immersion takes place.

    Park info

    • in Mungo National Park in the Murray-Riverina region
    • Mungo National Park is always open but may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

    • Park entry fees: 

      $8 per vehicle per day. Fees are payable through self-registration envelopes outside Mungo Visitor Centre. Different fees apply for commercial tour operators and vehicles with 8 seats or more.
