Heavy seas, swell and high winds are currently impacting our costal parks. Rock shelves, beaches and estuary crossings across may be dangerous and impassable. Exercise extreme caution and consider postponing your visit this year.
There has already been multiple deaths associated with rock fishing in similar conditions this year.
- Many creek crossings, roads and trails are closed and impassable due to severe rainfall causing dangerous conditions.
- Roads are likely to be cut off and there is a high risk of flash flooding
- high rainfall and storms / heavy rain, damaging winds and widespread flooding risks across the area.
- Emergency services are requesting that people avoid unnecessary travel.

Closed areas: Public Notice - Upgrade Works to Picnic Point Campground
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is undertaking essential upgrade works in Mimosa Rocks National Park within the Picnic Point campground.
The construction project includes replacing the fencing and bollards within the campground.
Construction works will commence Tuesday 10th June 2025 and are expected to be completed by Monday 15th July 2025 – subject to weather and construction timelines. For public safety, the Picnic Point campground will be closed during this time.
Alternative locations that provide a similar experience for park users include the Aragunnu and Middle Beach campgrounds.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 3 March 2025 to Monday 29 September 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:
- Araluen Nature Reserve
- Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
- Beowa National Park
- Berlang State Conservation Area
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
- Bournda National Park
- Bournda Nature Reserve
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Deua National Park
- Eurobodalla National Park
- Kooraban National Park
- Majors Creek State Conservation Area
- Mimosa Rocks National Park
- Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
- South East Forest National Park
- Wadbilliga National Park
Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting a ground baiting program using fresh meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be ongoing and continuous from Monday 14th April to Wednesday 30th September 2025. The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Baiting programs will be undertaken in:
- South East Forests National Park
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location.
