Book your WildThings school excursion for Stage 1 (Years 1-2) students in Sydney Harbour National Park. Together we'll explore the living world and identify the features that help native plants and animals thrive here.

Using our senses, skills of observation and language, we'll explore and describe the diverse adaptations of plants and animals. Our adventure will include a hands-on investigation into bug and animal habitats, along with nature play.

This is a fun and immersive harbourside excursion for young, enquiring minds.

Student outcomes	ST1-1WS-S. Observes, questions and collects data to communicate and compare ideas and comparing what they and others know ST1-4LW-S. Describes observable features of living things and their environments STe-6ES-S. Identifies how daily and seasonal changes in the environment affect humans and other living things
Objectives	Students will: Explore the natural, physical environment in and around Bradleys Head Develop scientific skills of observation, analysis, collaboration, discussion and communication to understand the survival strategies of the nature found here Conduct a bug hunt and examine the specific features of these diverse minibeasts Gain an understanding of the role national parks play in protecting the environment at Bradleys Head

Excursion details

When: Weekdays during the school term, 10am to 2pm, including meal breaks
Availability: Guided. Available on request.
Where: Bradleys Head – Booraghee Amphitheatre, Sydney Harbour National Park
Duration: 4hrs
Grading: Easy. Guided tour and activities along an unsealed walking path, including a board walk, grassed area and stairs.
Price: $17 per student. Minimum of 20 students. GST included.
Accessibility: Medium
Meeting point: Athol Hall carpark, where Bradleys Head Road meets Athol Wharf Road.
