There’s nothing more dramatic than the views of orange tinged clouds of a sunset at Olive Downs campground, matched only by the sight of kangaroos hopping across the horizon at dawn.

Set atop the distinctive flat-topped ‘Jump-Ups’ and surrounded by feathery mulga trees, the campsites here are perfect for caravans, camper trailers and tents. There are barbecues and picnic tables so you can cook up an evening feast before relaxing under a sprinkling of stars.

Before you head off on a driving tour of the Jump-Ups or a 4WD tour along Middle Road, be sure to walk Jump-Up walking track for a close-up view of this remarkable landscape. You’ll notice historic relics along the way that are linked to the pastoral history of the park. Keep an eye out for reptiles sneaking along the red dusty earth and the plethora of birds winging their way across the expansive sky.
