Overview

Enjoy riverside camping at Boomanoomana campgrounds in Murray Valley National Park. Choose from 4 campgrounds along the Murray River, 20km east of Barooga.

Choose from 4 campgrounds when you arrive:

  • One Tree Beach
  • Sandy Beach
  • Little Pebble Beach
  • Lagoon Campground

There are 3 beautiful beaches within Boomanoomana, One Tree, Sandy and Little Pebble Beach. Please keep an appropriate distance from the water to allow all visitors to enjoy the beaches. Lagoon campground is situated on the high bank of the Murray River.

You can also choose to camp at Paddy's Beach campground which is located in an additional area of Boomanoomana. This campground overlooks one of the many lagoons created by the Murray River.

There are no camping fees but a $6 booking fee applies. Bookings are required. Book online or call 1300 072 757.

There are no rubbish collection points. Please take all rubbish when you leave.

Permitted

  • Campfires are permitted between April and September.
  • Collection of deadfall timber is permitted for small campfires only.

Prohibited

  • You can’t remove firewood from the park. Chainsaws are not permitted.
  • Pets and domestics animals (other than certified assistance animals) are not permitted in Murray Valley National Park. If you want to camp with your dog, find a campground in Murray Valley Regional Park.

Vehicle access and road quality

All roads leading to the campgrounds in the Boomanoomana area are unsealed. 4WD vehicles recommended when wet.

How to get there

Boomanoomana campgrounds are around 20km east of the Barooga township. To get there:

  • Follow Hughes Street for 1.5km and turn right onto Mulwala-Barooga Road. Follow Mulwala-Barooga Road for 18km.
  • Turn right into Murray Valley National Park, Boomanoomana and follow the signs to each of the relevant campgrounds.
  • To get to One Tree Beach you can follow the directions above or turn right after 16km onto Ruwolts Road.
  • Follow Ruwolts Road for 2km and turn left into the reserve.
  • Once you have arrived choose from one of the 4 designated campgrounds.

To get to Paddy's Beach campground from Barooga:

  • Follow Hughes Street for 1.5km and turn right onto Mulwala-Barooga Road. Follow Mulwala-Barooga Road for 20km.
  • Turn right onto Paddys Beach Road and follow the road into Murray Valley National Park, Boomanoomana.

    Quicks Beach campground

    Spend the night right next to the Murray River at either Quicks Beach or Kerrs Beach campground. A perfect spot to set up your tent, caravan or motorhome and enjoy the sandy beaches.
