Overview

There is no safe location to park a vehicle if you’re trying to reach Upper Gledhills Falls. For your own safety, climbing and abseiling are prohibited here. Please visit Duckholes picnic area instead.

It is both illegal and dangerous to park a vehicle on the side of the McCarrs Creek Road when trying to reach Upper Gledhill Falls. You risk a parking fine or being injured by a vehicle driving on this stretch of road where the speed limit is 80km an hour.

There are no facilities here, no toilet and no approved walking track to the site. Mobile phone service is limited here. You may not be able to call for help if you need it.

Swimming is not recommended at Upper Gledhills Falls, particularly after rain. There is no lifeguard service and access for emergency services is difficult.

If you want to cool off with a paddle on a hot day please continue on to McCarrs Creek Boat Ramp or Church Point. The safest place to swim is always between the red and yellow flags at a patrolled beach.

For your safety, climbing and abseiling at Upper Gledhills Falls is prohibited. People have been seriously injured here while climbing and NPWS does not manage or maintain any climbing aids that may be found at this location. Don’t risk your life.

These maps give a basic overview of park attractions and facilities, and may not be detailed enough for some activities. We recommend that you buy a topographic map before you go exploring.
