Closed areas: Mount Canobolas Road to Summit closed
Mount Canobolas Road (from the intersection of Lake Canobolas Road through to the summit) will be closed from Monday 7am 6 May 2024 to Friday 5pm 10 May 2024 for tree vegetation work to be undertaken.
Access to the summit will be available via Old Canobolas Road until crews reach the intersection.
Access to the summit will be unavailable whilst work is completed between Old Canobolas Road and the summit.
Access to walking tracks will be become available or restricted as work crews make their way along Mount Canobolas Road.

Other planned events: NOTICE OF 1080 BAITING Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a baiting program which will include the placement of ground baits and the use of Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE’s) containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes.
The program will be continuous and ongoing between 1 March 2024 to 31 August 2024 within Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Please be reminded that domestic pets are not permitted on NPWS Estate. Pets and property working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the reserve or baiting location.
In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Golden Gully will be closed to users when weather forecasts predict 20mm or more of rainfall within a 24 hour period. Erosion and hazards may be present within the gully during and following significant and prolonged periods of rainfall. Please take care and follow on site signage.
