The program gives opportunities for urban Aboriginal youth to spend time in northern Sydney NSW national parks, building relationships and learning about Aboriginal culture and natural heritage conservation.

Working under the guidance of youth mentors and leaders, and immersing themselves in the park's historic bush surroundings, participants can further connect with their Aboriginal culture and identity, and gain important life skills at the same time.

Both guys and girls take part in several activities, such as recording sites and preserving previously recorded sites for which NSW national parks are renowned. This helps to preserve Aboriginal culture and the landscape.

Participants can also get involved with national park camping trips, ongoing fieldwork on Country, studying Australian native plants and traditional practices, managing weeds, and maintaining and redirecting park walking tracks, all the while learning about Aboriginal eco-tourism and discovering what it’s like to be a park ranger, tour guide or sites officer.
