Part of the car park at the Tyagarah Day Use Area car park will be closed for Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 March for the installation of vehicle safety barriers. The area affected is know as the grassy car park and works will not affect the parking on the sealed car park at the Day Use Area and beach entry point.

Safety alerts: Beach access closed due to beach erosion
The beach access track between Mildenhall Cottage and Imeson Cottage has been closed until further notice. Coastal processes have eroded the sand dune causing a dangerous drop off. The closest access to Clarkes Beach is via Brooke Drive and the Pass, or through the Bawaii (Captain Cook) car park and rest area.

Essential road maintenance is underway on Brummies Road, Condowie Road and North Wollumbin Road. Works will be happening from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and are expected to be completed by Friday 27 March 2026.
During these works access may be temporarily restricted. Bushwalkers and cyclists are advised to follow the directions of roadwork signs and contractor staff.
Heavy plant & machinery will be operating in the area to resurface trails, reinstate drainage and replace damaged bridges.

Closed areas: Nightcap Range Road closed in both directions due to major landslip repairs
Nightcap Range Road is closed to traffic in both directions due to a major landslip associated with the 2022 flood event. The closure affects the section of Nightcap Range Road between Rummery Road intersection and Telephone Road trailer parking area.
Access to Minyon Falls and Rummery Park is via Minyon Falls Road only.

Please travel via Uki using Rowlands Creek and Manns Roads to access the following locations:

Byron Shire Council is currently undertaking flood restoration works within the Main Arm valley, expected to be completed by early 2026.
These works include the restoration and repair of culverts and causeways along Main Arm Road, which is the main vehicle access to Mount Jerusalem National Park when approaching from Mullumbimby. Byron Shire Council have advised that Main Arm Road should only be used by local traffic.
