Investigating rainforests at Minnamurra Rainforest Centre

Investigating rainforests is a school excursion in Budderoo National Park for Stage 3 (Years 5-6) students focusing on HSIE. Experience a true rainforest with buttressed trees, strangler figs, hanging vines, epiphytic orchids and ferns and learn about the animals and other living things that depend on the forest.

Kosciuszko gameshow

Kosciuszko gameshow is a school excursion in Kosciuszko National Park for Stage 3 (Years 5-6) students focusing on HSIE as a KLA. Students will gather clues about the natural and cultural heritage of the Snowy Mountains from the displays in Kosciuszko Education Centre and use this information to compete as teams in a television-style game show.

Aboriginal identity

Aboriginal identity is a school excursion for Stage 3 (Years 5-6) students in Kosciuszko National Park which focuses on HSIE. Many images and icons associated with Australia come from the identity, culture and life of Aboriginal people - like the boomerang, didgeridoo, art, music and bush tucker.

Aboriginal culture

Aboriginal culture is a Stage 3 (Years 5-6) HSIE school excursion, exploring the beautiful natural and built environments of Blue Gum Hills Regional Park. Through first-hand experiences, you'll learn about the culture of the Awabakal People - how they lived, what resources they used and the significance of the land and Dreamtime stories.

Explore the hands-on, interactive displays in the Kosciarium and watch the 'Spirit of the Snowy Mountains' video, featuring the natural and cultural heritage of the Australian Alps.

Mystery of the bush banquet

Mystery of the bush banquet is a Stage 3 (Years 5-6) school excursion in Kosciuszko National Park, focusing on HSIE as a KLA. Students will get a partly coded invitation to a bush banquet, and participate in activities and games to understand how energy flows through food chains. Each activity gives you a clue to crack the coded message on the invitation.
