Senegal tea and luwigia weed spraying with herbicides metsulfuron-methyl and glyphosate will be undertaken on the Hacking River in Audley, NSW, the operation will take place upstream of Audley Weir to Jersey Springs. Signs will be displayed during times of herbicide application. Closed areas: Change in access to Wattamolla Beach and Lagoon

NPWS is upgrading the track to Wattamolla Beach and Lagoon. The works are part of a broader upgrade of the Royal Coast track from Bundeena to Garie Beach. The track upgrade will be undertaken between September 2017 and May 2018. Access to the beach and lagoon during this time will be via the Providential Point track, as indicated in this map.

Safety alerts: Malabar Headland rifle range operation schedule

To ensure public safety, the eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park is closed to the public during ANZAC Rifle Range operations.

These closures may occur with little or no notice. Check the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service alerts for Malabar Headland National Park before you enter.

Do not enter the park when red flags are flying above the range or if there are warning signs at the park entry points (South Maroubra Beach and Fishermans Road carpark). These closures also apply to Boora Point walking track.

Range scheduling information is provided by the NSW Rifle Association (the range authority).

Malabar Headland National Park is closed on the following dates:

  • The park is always closed on Saturdays and every 3rd Sunday of the month.

There will be no shooting over the following days:

  • Monday 8th Jan 2018 - Friday 12th Jan 2018

Safety alerts: Audley precinct in wet weather

Access across the Audley Weir may be closed due to river flooding during times of wet weather. During wet weather, NPWS advise park visitors to visit Live Traffic NSW to ascertain the status of the Weir crossing before commencing their travel to the park. During times of closure, access to Bundeena, Maianbar residential areas, Royal National Park Visitor Centre, including the Audley Dance hall and cafe, is via McKell Ave Waterfall.
