Recent heavy rains have caused localised flooding south of Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls. Rivers and Creeks maybe impassable. Rockfall, landslides and tree fall could have impacted routes and also be impassable. Visitors may have to return via the route they entered and should plan accordingly.
Many walking tracks, roads and fire trails within Blue Mountains National Park remain closed following sustained wet weather causing subsidence hazards, major landslides or infrastructure upgrades.

Evans Lookout Road will be closed beyond Grand Canyon car park from 7am Thursday 13th June to Friday 14th June, then from 7am Monday14th June to Friday 20th 2024 June, to allow for road repairs. There will be no vehicle access to Evans lookout during this time. Pedestrians can use the walking track to the lookout which begins at the Grand Canyon car park toilets.

Due to recent events, Victoria Arch and the Marble Way sections of Fig Tree Cave are closed to the public.
Visitors can still do a self-guided tour of Fig Tree Cave, but only as far as the ‘Broken stalactite’ platform. Visitors will then retrace their footsteps back to the entrance of the cave to complete the tour. This experience still includes all dark zones of the cave, recorded commentaries, light shows and a view of the underground river section.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Thursday 12 February 2024 to Sunday 30 June 2024. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of feral animals.
The program will take place in the following reserves:
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. Bowtells swing bridge on Six Foot track is closed to protect public safety. An upgrade is being planned and the bridge is expected to reopen in May 2024. Signs and barriers are in place to prevent access onto the bridge.
Crown Lands, which manages the bridge, is advising track users not to attempt to cross Coxs River. Any attempts to cross the river are at your own risk and are discouraged due to the potential for slips or falls, rainfall and risk of flash flooding.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting a continual and ongoing 1080 ground baiting program for the control of foxes from Friday 15 December 2023 to Friday 14 June 2024 to reduce the impacts on threatened species.
The operation will target foxes in the Carrington Falls, Budderoo Plateau, Knights Hill and Barren Grounds areas. Baits have been placed on NPWS estate, private property and Crown road reserves with permissions.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is disposing of used 1080 baits and baiting products in an approved disposal pit on NPWS National Parks land within the Fitzroy Falls area.
The burial of used baits and products will happen from Monday 8 January 2024 to Friday 14 June 2024. All bait material in the pit will be buried under at least 500mm of soil, and clear of waterways so as not to cause pollution of waterways. This is in accordance with the Pesticide Control Order (1080 bait products) 2019.
There will be 1080 baiting signs at the entrance to the disposal pit site.
