Other planned events: 1080 wild dog baiting program underway

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be running a 1080 wild dog baiting program in Brisbane Water National Park. The baiting will begin on Wednesday 21 March 2018 and finish by Saturday 21 April 2018.

This program is part of a broader coordinated control program to lessen the impacts of wild dogs on stock and wildlife. If you'd like to become involved in the cooperative program, please contact the Greater Sydney Local Land Services on (02) 4355 8203.

Domestic pets (including dogs) are not permitted in national parks or reserves. Neighbours and park users are reminded that 1080 baits are lethal to domestic pets. There will be 1080 baiting signs at access points to the baiting areas. In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance.

We suggest that working dogs be restrained to ensure that they don't enter the baiting location during poisoning operations, or muzzle dogs if they're required to work in the baiting location during and after the baiting program.

For further information please contact the NPWS Central Coast area office on (02) 4320 4200.

Do not touch the baits or ejector devices as they are poisonous. 1080 is highly lethal to domestic animals and pet owners are reminded that dogs are not permitted in national parks.
