Edgars picnic area is in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park near Wollomombi campground. It’s a peaceful spot to rest and relax when visiting Wollomombi Main Falls lookout.
This secluded spot is a great place to enjoy a barbecue or picnic lunch when visiting the falls country of New England. Located next to Edgars lookout, Edgars picnic area has the stunningly beautiful gorge system as its backdrop.
If you’re lucky you may even hear echoing courtship calls of superb lyrebirds as your background soundtrack.

There are 3 areas in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park where you'll need day use vehicle permits: Halls Peak campground and picnic area, Riverside campground and picnic area, and Youdales Hut campground and picnic area. Day use vehicle permits can be bought online or by calling the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. If camping, permit fees are included in the campground fee.
