Closed areas: Moama 5 Mile - Area Closed due to works at boat ramp and adjacent tiers
The 5-Mile, while works take place during repair of the tiered areas caused by the recent floods, will be partially closed. These works will take place over an 8 week period.
An area at the top of the tiers at carpark level, including the lower Bbq area will have an exclusion fence set up to minimise damage to vehicles, boats and injury to visitors. This excluded area may temporarily involve the closure of access to the boat ramp, which will otherwise remain open.
The rest of the Visitor area will remain open. All the toilets, the carpark, access to the mountain bike trails and the Dhungala walk will still be available for public use.
The works are expected to begin on the 1st May and be finished by the end of June 2024.

Safety alerts: Blue-Green Algae Advice
There is currently an AMBER alert for potentially toxic blue-green algae on Yanga Lake. At amber alert levels blue-green algae may be multiplying in numbers. The water may have a green tinge and musty or organic odour. The water should be considered as unsuitable for potable use and alternative supplies or prior treatment of raw water for domestic purposes should be considered. The water may also be unsuitable for stock watering. The water remains suitable for recreational use, however algal concentrations can change rapidly. Water users should use caution and avoid water where signs of blue-green algae present.
