Overview

Woodford Island Nature Reserve was created in January 1999. It covers an area of 374ha. View the detailed park and fire management documents.

Woodford Island Nature Reserve was created in 1999 and covers 374 hectares. The reserve conserves part of Woodford Island Ridge; Woodford Island is both the largest island and the island with the highest elevation in the Clarence River.

The reserve comprises two separate portions that were formerly part of Woodford North and Woodford South state forests. The reserve contains coastal blackbutt (E. pilularis) and red bloodwood (Corymbia gummifera), some of which is in old growth condition.
