As a volunteer guide, you’ll be leading visitors along Lyrebird loop walk and Minnamurra Falls walk. You’ll share insights about this ancient ecosystem, its unique plants and wildlife, and some local history as well.

Volunteer guides primarily lead guided tours and answer visitors’ questions. But you may also be asked to support NPWS staff with visitor activities, and occasionally with medical emergencies and helping to find lost visitors. You’ll be working in the outdoors with our friendly team of volunteers. You’ll need to have a good fitness level, as you'll be walking up hills regularly throughout your shift. If you're leading tours along Minnamurra Falls walk you'll need a high level of fitness (it's a Grade 4 walk). However, if you're leading visitors along Lyrebird loop walk, you'll need a good level of fitness (this is a Grade 3 walk).

It’s great if you know about rainforest ecosystems, geology or local history, but it’s not essential. We’ll provide you with training. If you’ve got great communication skills and are happy dealing face-to-face with visitors of all ages during busy periods (including school holidays and weekends), this could be the role for you.

Join up now for this rewarding program and help inspire others to appreciate and protect this incredible environment for years to come.
