This full-day tour starts with a handy pick up within Sydney's city limits. Then the 9km hike kicks off in the relaxed beachside town of Bundeena, on the edge of the Royal National Park.

Follow your guide along the Coast Track's rugged sandstone headland. The landscape shifts from coastal heath to pockets of low woodland as you head to Big Marley Beach on this moderately challenging route. In spring, it's coloured by bright red waratahs, coastal banksias and clusters of flannel flowers.

Listen out for the scratchy calls of new holland honeyeaters and spy eastern water dragons basking on warm rock ledges. You might even spot humpback whales breaching offshore if you're walking between May and November.

Your turnaround point is the windswept expanse of Big Marley Beach. Retrace your steps to Bundeena for a café lunch and breather. Meals and drinks are not included in the tour price.

After lunch, the adventure continues. Step aboard the Currunalla, one of Australia's oldest running commuter ferries. After the scenic ride to Cronulla, the Run Ride Explore team will drop you back in the city.

Run Ride Explore is a licensed commercial tour operator with a Parks Eco Pass.
