Led by an NPWS guide, you’ll enjoy a gently-paced spotlighting adventure through the eucalypt forests of Lake Innes Nature Reserve, an important koala habitat.

As you see the world under the beam of your guide’s spotlight, keep an eye out for some of the park’s nighttime residents. See if you can spot gliding microbats and watchful possums, or spiders spinning fresh webs, beetles scuttling across the leaf litter or moths drifting through the torchlight. Keep an eye out for dozing koalas nestled high in the canopy and listen for owls calling overhead. While threatened species such as the green and golden bell frog, the large bentwing bat or the elusive spotted-tailed quoll are known to inhabit this reserve, it’s rare to see them, but we might glimpse them on this tour.

Bring a torch and wear sturdy shoes. Insect repellent and long clothing are also essential for this tour, for protection from mosquitoes.
