Getting there and parking

Commemoration Flat picnic area is in the Kurnell area of Kamay Botany Bay National Park. To get there:

  • Take Princes Highway or the M1 south
  • Turn left onto Rocky Point Road then left onto Captain Cook Drive
  • Continue around 11km to the T intersection at the roundabout
  • Turn right to stay on Captain Cook Drive then right onto Cape Solander Drive to enter the park.
  • Park at Commemoration Flat picnic area carpark.

Parking

Parking is available at Commemoration Flat picnic area and at designated carparks along Cape Solander Drive. Cost is $8 per vehicle per day. Payment options include pay machines, Park ‘n’ Pay App.

Accessibility

Disability access level - hard

  • Access is via steps or a steep slope, or you'll have to move across a rough surface with obstacles such as potholes, tree roots and rocks. Wheelchairs can access this area with assistance.
  • Paths are unsealed and the ground is uneven, but there are only gradual slopes.

  • in the Kurnell area of Kamay Botany Bay National Park in the Sydney and surrounds region
  • 7am–7.30pm all year.

    Areas may have to close at times due to poor weather or fire danger.

  • Park entry fees:

    $8 per vehicle per day applies in the Kurnell area only. The park has coin-operated pay and display machines - please bring correct coins. The park also has credit card accepting payment facilities.
